September 27, 1963—February 18, 2021

 

Mark Allen Merrill, 57, of Stephenville went to be with our Lord on Thursday, February 18, 2021 in Stephenville, Texas

A Graveside Memorial service for Mark will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, March 6th at Chalk Mountain Cemetery with Pastor John Roof of Glen Rose First Assembly of God officiating.  Services are under direction of Stephenville Funeral Home.

Mark was born on September 27, 1963 in Kountze, Texas to the late Enoch “EA” and Clara Wilkinson Merrill, the oldest of 7 children.

In December 1980 at the age of 17 while in High School Mark joined the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve and later graduated from Dublin High School in 1982 as an Honor Student. He went on to study Civil Engineering/Fine Arts at the University of Texas in Austin.

Mark was a very talented artist and loved board games of all types and attending gaming conventions.  He also was a member of The Stellar Kingdom of Ansteorra (the Society for Creative Anachronism).

He is survived by his son, Richard and his wife Jessica Merrill of Fort Worth; grandchildren, McKenzie and Henry; brothers, Barry and wife Donna Merrill of Glen Rose, Wes and wife Ann Merrill of Glen Rose, and Stephen Merrill of Granbury, sisters Ellen Merrill of Granbury, Laura and husband Dwayne Harms of Taylor, and Mary and husband Randy Staples of Carrollton; several nieces and nephews.
