Joyce Ann Fisk Dove, 82, of Haslet, died Saturday, April 2, 2022 in Decatur.

Funeral services for Joyce will be 11:00 AM Wednesday, April 6th at Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel with Kenneth Giese officiating.  Burial will follow at Erath Gardens of Memory Cemetery.  Visitation with Joyce’s family will be 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Tuesday at Stephenville Funeral Home.

Joyce was born December 10, 1939 in Sherman county Texas to Ezra and Lennie Fisk. She attended Stratford and Dalhart schools where her dad had farm and ranch property.

She married Roy Dove in Dalhart on February 26, 1958. They lived in Dalhart for their first five years of marriage, and then moved to Pasadena, California, then to Big Sandy Texas. During her 64 years of marriage she lived and served with her husband in the Church of God in many different places in Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Colorado, and Louisiana.

She was a devoted wife, mother, home maker and business woman. She was a seamstress, and doll maker. As a seamstress she made all her children’s cloths while they were young. For her husband, she made shirts, sports jackets, a coat, and a blanket out of his tee shirt collection.

Her doll making started when a doll maker taught her to make dolls. She started by make dolls to look like her grandchildren. This then lead to her business of making look-a-like dolls, many of them for brides with wedding gowns like the brides, a variety of children and even adults.

Joyce is survived by her husband, Roy; sons, Jim and wife Debra Dove of San Antonio, Dwayne and wife Shirley of Eastland, Richard and wife Teressa of Euless; daughters, Cindy Sherrell of Haslet, and Jania Dove of Flower Mound; brother, Ray and wife Nancy Fisk of Big Sandy; sisters-in-law, Barbara Thompson of Hartley, Peggy and husband Gary Beebe of Bayfield, Colorado, and Debbie and husband Jerry Annen of Dimmitt; eighteen grandchildren, and twenty four great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Besides her parents, Joyce was also preceded in death by a son, Kenny Dove in 2010, brothers, Lloyd Fisk and Robert (Bob) Fisk; and a sister, Nina Joan Rader.

Joyce’s legacy is truly Proverbs 31:10-31

Pro 31:11  The heart of her husband safely trusts her; So he will have no lack of gain.

Pro 31:12  She does him good and not evil All the days of her life.

Pro 31:13  She seeks wool and flax, And willingly works with her hands.

Pro 31:14  She is like the merchant ships, She brings her food from afar.

Pro 31:15  She also rises while it is yet night, And provides food for her household, And a portion for her maidservants.

Pro 31:16  She considers a field and buys it; From her profits she plants a vineyard.

Pro 31:17  She girds herself with strength, And strengthens her arms.

Pro 31:18  She perceives that her merchandise is good, And her lamp does not go out by night.

Pro 31:19  She stretches out her hands to the distaff, And her hand holds the spindle.

Pro 31:20  She extends her hand to the poor, Yes, she reaches out her hands to the needy.

Pro 31:21  She is not afraid of snow for her household, For all her household is clothed with scarlet.

Pro 31:22  She makes tapestry for herself; Her clothing is fine linen and purple.

Pro 31:23  Her husband is known in the gates, When he sits among the elders of the land.

Pro 31:24  She makes linen garments and sells them, And supplies sashes for the merchants.

Pro 31:25  Strength and honor are her clothing; She shall rejoice in time to come.

Pro 31:26  She opens her mouth with wisdom, And on her tongue is the law of kindness.

Pro 31:27  She watches over the ways of her household, And does not eat the bread of idleness.

Pro 31:28  Her children rise up and call her blessed; Her husband also, and he praises her:

Pro 31:29  "Many daughters have done well, But you excel them all."

Pro 31:30  Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing, But a woman who fears the LORD, she shall be praised.

Pro 31:31  Give her of the fruit of her hands, And let her own works praise her in the gates.
