Jerry Walter Hollifield, Sr. 74, of Stephenville, died on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 in Stephenville.

Visitation with the Hollifield family will begin at 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM Saturday, September 18, 2021 at Stephenville Funeral Home.  A military graveside service for Jerry’s cremains will be set at later date.

Jerry was born on January 28, 1947, in Leaksville, North Carolina to the late Hoyt and Mary Dixon Hollifield.  Jerry grew up in Eden, N. C., and was drafted into the U. S. Army. He served for three years in the U. S. Army, serving a deployment in Vietnam.  When Jerry was discharged from the army he returned to Texas.  He married Betty Guill on June 27, 1980 in Stephenville.  Jerry loved his family, and enjoyed playing and working with his grandchildren on special projects.  He also loved working with electronics.  Jerry spent his entire career working as a journeyman electrician.

Jerry is survived by his wife, Betty; sons, Jerry Hollifield, Jr. and wife Katie of Mineral Wells, Clayton Hollifield and wife Mandy of Mineral Wells, and Terry Dobson, Jr. and wife Tonya of Stephenville; daughter, Shelia Taylor and her husband Terry of Lipan; sisters, Janet Jones and her husband Ronnie of Eden, N.C., and Carolyn Hopkins of Eden, N.C.; numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Besides his parents, Jerry was also preceded in death by a daughter, Sara Neagle; sister, Wanda Sams; and brother, Wayne Hollifield.
