It is with great sadness that the family of Jimmy Dale Evatt, of Stephenville, mourns his passing on January 1st, 2024, at the age of 79, just days before his 80th birthday.
Dale was born January 31st, 1944, in Stephenville to Jimmie and Hetty Evatt. He graduated from Stephenville High School in 1962 and Tarleton State College in 1967 with a degree in education. He then went on to teach science at Weatherford ISD. Dale moved back to Stephenville in 1975 where he became partner at Wayne Blue Ford and later Service Manager and Salesman at Texstar Ford for over 40 years.
Dale was well known for his love of cars, jokes, and Dr. Pepper. Dale considered it an honor to have sold cars to multiple generations of families in the Stephenville area. He was proud to have won numerous sales awards while earning a loyal following of customers that respected his knowledge, kindness, and friendship.
Dale will be lovingly remembered by his wife of 30 years, Linda Evatt and her daughter Aubrey Martin and husband Chad of Arlington; his sons Chad Evatt, Shane Evatt and wife Kristi of North Carolina, and Matthew Evatt and wife Cassie; brother Mark Evatt of Abilene; sister Jean Elliott and husband Jess; grandchildren Elijah, Finley, and Dax. Dale was preceded in death by his parents and brother Gary Evatt.
Dale’s love of animals inspired him to request that donations and memorial contributions be made to the Erath County Humane Society.
A Memorial Reception will be held Tuesday, January 23, 2024 from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm at Stephenville Funeral Home
