Tammy Sue Burns-Trammell, 66, peacefully left us too soon on March 5, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones, after her long battle with cancer. She did not lose that battle since ultimately, when she took her last breath, she got to step into the glory of heaven and meet up with her Savior and those that went on before her. She was born in Florida on October 28, 1959, to Leland Ray and Fannie Mae (Wallace) Burns. Upon graduating from high school, she went on to live an extraordinary life. She later met and married Scott Trammell, and the two of them had wonderful times together. They hosted many family gatherings before his passing in 2024.
Tammy was the most selfless and kind person you would have ever met. She loved everyone that came into her life. She was a one-of-a-kind woman, always ready to fix anything or tackle any project whether it was her own or someone else’s. She loved many things; game nights, water aerobics, and of course the community breakfasts with her neighbors, but most of all she loved her family and friends. She was genuinely a ray of sunshine and a joy for anyone that crossed her path.
Tammy will be missed by her children; Leland Burns II and his wife, Jennifer of Holland, Texas, Tyler Sams and his wife, Chandra of Bluff Dale, Texas, Esther Hooper and her husband, Zack of Leander, Texas, and a bonus child, Taylor Trammell her beloved grandchildren; Emma Burns of St. Paul, Nebraska, Ethan Snead of Jackson, Mississippi, Austin, Riley, and Gavin Sams of Bluff Dale, Texas, and Milam and Mallary Hooper of Leander, Texas, as well as her sisters; Brenda Johnson and her husband, Jimmie, Vicki Socla, and Tracy Christiana.
Tammy is rejoicing in heaven with her husband, Scott, both of her parents, Leland and Fannie, her grandparents, as well as one sister, Deborah Burns.
A celebration of life will be held in Tammy’s honor on Monday, March 9, 2026, at 11:00 AM at Stephenville Funeral Home, Stephenville, Texas.
