Robert Sterling Elliott, Sr. local rancher died March 23, 2010. He was born May 19, 1944 in Lubbock, Texas to Buford (Boots) and Helen Elizabeth Elliott. Funeral Service: 2:00 PM Saturday at the Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel. Burial to follow at the West End Cemetery. Visitation: 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday, March 26, 2010 at the Stephenville Funeral Home. Robert graduated from Stephenville High School. He attended Tarleton State University and graduated from North Texas State University where he was a member of the Sigma Nu Fraternity. While attending college he met and married Stephany Lynne Wright. They moved to Stephenville in 1971 where he ranched with his family. In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Robert Sterling Elliott, Jr. (Boots) and wife Misty, daughters Beverly Shaelyn Funderburgh and husband D.L. and Tracy Lynne Tesar and husband John. He served as president of The Erath County Young Farmers and president of The Erath County Livestock Association. He had fond memories of working and helping organize the yearly rodeo. He was a lifelong member of The First United Methodist Church of Stephenville. He adored his family and enjoyed vacations and Sunday lunches together. His cherished grandchildren are Robbi Taylor Elliott, Bunker Sterling Funderburgh, Jettie Lyn Funderburgh, and Emma Sterling Elliott. He was looking forward to his newest grandbaby in August. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Penny Terrell Elliott and Brother-in-law Timothy Lane Wright. Nieces and nephews are Kimberley Singleton, Molly Elliott, Todd Wright, Delane Haro and Rebekah Wright. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Charles Andrew Elliott Pallbearers are: Jerry Singleton, Jack Berry, Perry Elliott, Don Coan, Don Jones, Randy Thomas, Kenny Dolson, Merrill Anderson.
