Pauline Henson

March 15, 1966 — January 22, 2026

Pauline Henson (Holton) was born March 15, 1966, to Norman Ross Holton and Jamie Lenore Lechleitner in Grants, New Mexico. She graduated from Grants High School in 1984. Her lifelong career was centered around the oil and gas industry. She was incredibly talented in what she did and was known as the go-to person and problem-solver by many of her co-workers for any questions they had.

One of the biggest passions in her life was horses and barrel racing. She began riding horses at a young age and competed throughout her entire life. From local jackpots to PRCA Rodeos, she was a winner and a fierce competitor both inside and out of the arena.

Although she had one son, she was "mom" to dozens, if not hundreds, of kids (and adults) that came into her life. Whether they were bronc riders her son brought around while rodeoing, or the kids she watched grow up while serving as rodeo secretary for numerous junior rodeo associations throughout the years, Pauline always welcomed them into her home. Her warm heart and caring personality made everyone feel loved and important, no matter how long they had known her.

Pauline passed peacefully at her home surrounded by loved ones on January 22, 2026. She valiantly battled lung and brain cancer for nearly 2 years. The diagnosis never slowed her down, whether it came to her job, her family, or her horses. Throughout treatment, she stayed positive and optimistic. She was determined to get back up, no matter how many times her diagnosis knocked her down.

Pauline is survived by her son, Dylon Henson and his wife Caitlin of Dublin, TX; mother Jamie Holton of Grants, NM; brother, Ken Posey of Coshocton, OH; sister, Norene Canada and her husband Ben Chavez of San Rafael, NM; nephew Cody Canada and his wife Tori Canada, children Wyatt and Lexi, of Evansville, WY, along with numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.

Pauline was preceded in death by her father, Norman Ross Holton.

Pauline's wishes were to be cremated and scattered at a later date, surrounded by close friends and family.
