Nikki Lea Byrd, 44, of Patillo, Texas, went to be united with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, September 28, 2025. She left this world with her loving family by her side.

Nikki was born in Abilene, Texas on March 25, 1981. She attended public school in Hawley, Texas, and graduated from Hawley High School in 1999. Nikki married the love of her life Scott Byrd on October 25, 2003, in Hawley. Nikki went on to get her Bachelor of Education degree at Tarleton State University, graduating in 2004. She taught at Santo ISD where she loved and poured into her students. Nikki was a ‘planner’, a supporter, and the number one cheerleader for her own children and all her Santo children. She didn’t miss an event. Her students dearly loved her and always supported her. Most of all Nikki was a strong woman of faith. She loved her Lord and Savior. She wanted her battle to be used for God’s Glory. She was able to share her faith and love for the Lord with her friends, family, nurses, doctors, etc…anyone that would listen and a few that didn’t want to. She, Scott, and their children are long time members at Patillo Baptist Church. She served her church as a Sunday School teacher, and Vacation Bible School leader.

Nikki is survived by her husband of twenty-one years, Scott; sons, Jake and Wesley Byrd; daughter, Kate Byrd; her parents, Robert and Christy Adkins and Wade and Maria Armstrong; sisters, Aleecia Anderson and Shana and husband Adam Quintero; brothers, Austin and wife Shalee Adkins, and Coby Adkins; father-in-law, Richard Byrd; sister-in-law and brother-in-law Tracey and Trey Haggard; brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Sam and Krissey Byrd; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Nikki was preceded in death by her grandparents, Van and Doris VanCleave; a brother, Wesley Armstrong; and mother-in-law Nancy Byrd.
