Mary Sue Burgan

Mary Sue Burgan, 81, of Duffau passed away on Tuesday, April 8, 2025 in Waco.

Funeral services for Sue will be held at 1:30, Friday, April 11th, at Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow at Hico Cemetery. Visitation with the Burgan family will be Thursday, 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at Stephenville Funeral Home

Sue was born on December 22, 1943, in Hico, Texas to the late Luther and Willie Lucile Crow Spinks. She attended Hico public schools, and at the age of 16, on August 28, 1960, married the love of her life Don Sherman Burgan. Her desire was to finish high school so in the fall of 1969, she wanted to go back to school to get her high school diploma. She finished her Jr. and Sr. years at Hico High School, and graduated in the class of 1972. Sue spent most of her life working in an Insurance Agency. She attended Calvary Baptist Church in Stephenville. Sue loved spending time with her family, and cooking. She spent most of her life in Duffau community and Hico.

Sue is survived by her sons, Mark and C. B. Burgan; granddaughters, Brandi and husband Eric Harris, Brittney and husband Patrick Kostecka, and Sabrina and husband Cass Griffin; great grandchildren, Emma, Mia, Luke, Trenton, and Kash

Sue was also preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Don, who died on September 29, 2017; and a half sister, Wynell Bohannan in 2009.
