Larry Glen Wooten, 78, passed away on April 7, 2025, in Stephenville, Texas. He was born on July 17, 1946, in Stephenville, Texas, to Johnnie and Zell (Birdwell) Wooten. He grew up in Stephenville, Texas, graduating from Stephenville High School in 1964, and had many dear friends among his classmates that he remained close to through the years. Upon finishing High School, he joined the United States Army and bravely served in the Vietnam War. In 1973, he graduated from Tarleton State University receiving a Bachelor degree of science. He also participated on the Tarleton golf team. On March 12, 1981, he married the love of his life, Kay Runnels. Larry worked as a car salesman for over 27 years in Stephenville. One of the many things he enjoyed besides being with his family was playing golf. Larry was a lifelong resident of Stephenville.
Larry is survived by his wife, Kay; sons, Joshua and his wife Lisa and Zac Wooten, and his daughter Amy Garcia; his grandchildren, Kaylee Marshall, Elizabeth Marshall, Tatum Wooten, Kinsley Wooten, and Drew Wooten; and his Great-Grandchildren, Makaio Marshall and Ezra Mesa; and his sister, Margaret and her husband, Johnny Colpa.
Larry is preceded in death by both of his parents, and his brother Johnny Wooten.
Service will be held on Saturday, April 12, 2025 at 2:00 pm at the Stephenville Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation with the Wooten family will be Friday, 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Stephenville Funeral Home.
