Julie Griffin

Julie Griffin, 61, of Dublin, Texas, passed away quietly in the early morning hours of May 1, 2026, after a courageous and far too brief battle with cancer.

Julie was greeted at the pearly gates by her parents, L.G. Bills and Dollie Mae Fidler.

She is survived by her loving husband of 41 years, David; her sons, Tyler and Chase; her cherished grandson, Samuel; and her brothers, Gary and Jack Bills.

Julie was feisty, spunky, funny, and never one for empty clichés. She would probably object to anyone saying she “lit up a room,” but she absolutely made her presence known everywhere she went. She had a sharp wit, a strong spirit, and a special way of bringing laughter and honesty to those around her.

She dedicated 32 years of her professional life to serving students through the public school system, where her care and commitment made a lasting difference in the lives of many.

Julie found joy in life’s simple and meaningful moments: sitting on her front porch enjoying the country view, spending time with David in the RV at Lake Proctor, tending to her dogs, and enjoying a good meal at Reynaldos Mexican restaurant.

She was an avid reader who loved thrillers, romances, and — as she would surely admit with a grin — a little spice now and then. More than anything, Julie loved her family. She treasured cheering on her sons through their sports years and through every stage of life as they grew into men she was proud of. Her greatest joy was being “Gigi” to Samuel. From swim lessons to go-karts and treasured sleepovers, time with him was among her happiest moments.

Julie will be deeply missed for her humor, strength, loyalty, and the love she gave so freely to those lucky enough to know her. Her memory will live on in the stories shared, the laughter remembered, and the family she loved so dearly.

A celebration of life will be held for Julie at Greens Creek Baptist Church in Dublin, Texas on Friday, May 8, 2026 at 10 a.m. Lunch will follow.
