Judy Kay Luce was called home to her Lord and Savior on September 23, 2025. In her 80 years of life she was known to many and served them all with love and devotion. Some of her titles included, Servant of God, Wife, Mom, Meme, aunt, boss, and truly the very best of us.
Born on October 28, 1944, in Albuquerque, New Mexico to the late Floyd “Cheesy” and Emily Dearing. She attended Valley High School and later married Roy Dwayne Luce, January 15, 1971, in Bosque Farms, New Mexico. Together they raised three children; Billy, Michele and Tammy while running numerous cattle operations throughout the state of New Mexico. Judy and Dwayne were known for their unwavering support for their children and many others in the rodeo community.
She gained the title of Meme with the first of her 8 grandchildren in 1984, and welcomed the most recent of her 10 great-grandchildren in May. She enjoyed going to their sporting events, birthday parties and taking them through McDonald’s drive thru, even if she wasn’t supposed to. When she wasn’t on the road going to her family’s events she kept busy serving at Greens Creek Baptist Church, working team ropings, and visiting friends. She had an abundance of love for her church family and served with a group of ladies that ensured no one ever went without.
She will always be remembered for her infectious and joyous laugh, dedication and love she poured into family and her faith. Her presence enriched the lives of all who knew her. Though she will be profoundly missed, her light will continue to shine in the hearts she touched and the legacy she leaves behind. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations be made to Green Creek Baptist Church in her memory.
