John Newton Crow, 78, of Hico, Texas passed away on December 8, 2025 . Born on June 11, 1947 in Hico to John Frazier and Emma Crow, John was a beloved father and brother. 

A proud and dedicated worker, John devoted 43 years of his life to Lhoist North America, where he earned the respect and friendship of countless coworkers. John was also a dedicated member of the Hico Volunteer Fire Department for many years.Known for his playful spirit, John loved to give everyone a hard time, always with a grin to show his humor. 

John’s greatest joy was his family. He is survived by his sister Jay Dean Barber (and husband Jesse) of Hamilton, his daughters—Jennifer Rummel (and husband Ricky) of McGregor, JoAnna Ince (and husband Terry) of Hico, Betti Cryer of Hico, Bobbi Taylor of Comanche, and Barbara Taylor of Hico, his grandchildren Hayden Ince, Landen Ince,Tanner Rummel, Ali Cryer, Keaton Cryer, Christian Cryer, Jana Taylor, Shawn Fortney, Austin Fortney, James Fortney, and his niece Melody Starr (and husband JR). 

John was preceded in death by his parents John Frazier and Emma Crow, wife Vicky Crow, granddaughter Kelsey Cryer and nephew Lee Barber. 

John’s family would like to thank Laurel Glen Assisted Living Center, Lone Star Rehab Center, CCS Hospice and Texas Health Harris Methodist Hospital of Stephenville for assisting with his care for so many years.A private family service will be conducted at a later date.
