In Memory of Jim and Tommie Carr
AND MAMA SAID
Jesus and Mama looked down from heaven today,
And Mama said, "Dear Lord, there's something I'd like to say.
You've always known how much I miss Jim so,
And now I see him sleeping so peaceful there below.
It does seem such a shame to waken him somehow,
But Lord, I'd be so pleased if I could talk to him right now.
You know I'd love to see him and have him here with us,
So I'll just patiently wait, thank you for listening, sweet Jesus.”
Then Mama turned to walk away, but Jesus said, “Child wait”.
And there came Daddy, walking tall, just inside the Pearly Gates.
