Delia Ann Browning (Ann) was born February 28, 1932 in Hardin County, Kentucky to Audie and Lura Neff Browning. She had 7 brothers and sisters. Ann enjoyed a fun childhood growing up on the farm. She met Charles (Chuck) in 1952 while working in Bowling Green, Kentucky. Ann waited tables in the restaurant where he frequently ate. They started dating and then eloped in December 1952. After Christmas they moved to Houston. They lived in several places throughout Chuck's career: Louisiana, Nashville, Houston, Kermit and Odessa. Ann was a homemaker and a loving wife and mother, doting grandmother and great-grandmother. Her marriage and family were her life. She was always involved in her family's activities whether it be room mom, PTA volunteer or scout leader.
In 1993 Chuck retired and they bought 140 acres south of Stephenville and built a house large enough to accommodate the entire family, which they lovingly named the “CA Ranch”. She was involved in her Sunday school class and church (First United Methodist of Stephenville), and supported charities. Ann and Chuck also played bridge and worked hard through the years to achieve the level of Life Master. Many good times were spent at the ranch enjoying family get-togethers, playing cards and games and enjoying her good cooking. They loved traveling when the kids were young and would take the camper up to Colorado and Utah each summer. After they retired they went to Boston, Germany twice and had the trip of a lifetime to Spain and France in 2012 with 15 members of the family. Ann leaves a wonderful legacy behind of hard work and family first. She was truly one of a kind.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 65 years Chuck Truby, daughter Patty Lewis, parents Audie Browning and Lura Neff Browning, brother Clifton Browning and sisters Edna Doten, Mildred Amy, Phyllis Nichols and Susan Alberta Coogle.
She is survived by her four children, Jackie (and Lew) York of Okemah, OK, Terry (and Lee) Hall of Dumas, TX, Mike (and Donna) Truby of Boerne, TX and Brian (and Ellen) Truby of Keller, TX. She has ten grandchildren: Felicia Tate, Ruth Anna Schulz, Deborah Edwards, Susan Marvin, Jason Truby, Kristen Espino, Ryan Truby, Matthew Truby, Jessica Stohner and Bradlee Hall. She has 12 great-grandchildren: Drew and Henry Tate, Julia, Susan, Judah and Seth Schulz, Ty, Colt-and Avery Marvin, Chloe Espino, Andrew Edwards and Eli Stohner. She also has two great-great-grandchildren, Rory and Owen Tate.
