Cindy Ann Edwards

Cynthia “Cindy” Ann Edwards was surrounded by family when she went to be with the Lord on September 10, 2026. Cindy was born October 24, 1959 in Smyrna, TN to Bennie and Willie Whiteley, and married her husband Dewey Dean Edwards on November 28, 1980. She graduated with honors from Dublin High School, and earned a Bachelor’s Degree, a Master’s Degree and a Doctor of Education all from Tarleton State University.

Cindy shaped countless lives educating others including as a teacher at Morgan ISD, Morgan Mill ISD, superintendent at Three Way ISD and Lipan ISD, and assistant professor at Tarleton State University. She was also deeply proud to support all her children in completing their own college educations. Cindy brought color into the world as a quilter, her quilts receiving many recognitions over the years and her passion leading her to serve as president of the Town 'N Country Quilt Guild of Stephenville.

Cindy is preceded in death by her parents, Bennie and Willie Whiteley. Cindy is survived by her husband of 45 years, Dean, as well as her children Tiffany (Graham) Slaughter, Mandi (Mark) Nelson, Maycee (Jason) Kelley, Rhett Edwards; her grandchildren Rainey, Ember, Hayden, Tulie, Cyprus, Meadow, Cecily, Adeline, Félicie, Tristan, Clara, Leonor; and siblings Daree Yancey and Jean Crawford.

Visitation will be come and go 5-7pm on September 18 at The Orchard, 6255 South US Hwy 281 (toward Hico), Stephenville, TX 76401.

Funeral service will be at 10:00am on September 19 at Cowboy Church of Erath County, 4945 U.S. Highway, Stephenville, TX 76401
