Clinton Blake Whitmire

August 3, 1970 — July 8, 2025

Clinton Blake Whitmire passed away Tuesday, July 8,2025, at the age of 54. Blake was born on August 3,1970, to Diane and Gary Whitmire in Fredericksburg, Texas. Blake's childhood was spent riding bikes and skateboarding the neighborhood with his brother, sister and friends. Cross Mountain was basically in the front yard and was where they loved to climb and roam for hours on end. This was where some of the greatest memories were made, and where some of Blake's best and funniest stories ever told were born. A trip to Enchanted Rock, became death defying one day when Blake, his brother Wade, and good friends tried to descend on the back side of the rock. It took some brainstorming, a lot of praying and backtracking steep terrain to get them safely back down. There were summer days filled with swimming at the city and park pools, as well as sneaking away to swim at the dam at Lady Bird Johnson Park.

The family moved to Dublin, Texas, as Blake was about to start high school. He attended Dublin High School all 4 years and played basketball and was in FFA. There was hauling hay in the summers, with trips to the lake later on to cool off and go waterskiing and fishing.

Blake always looked forward to the big family deer hunts in Lufkin and dove hunts at Proctor and his parents' place. He loved motorcycles and never missed a chance to ride with his brother and cousins. He loved all family gatherings and reunions. He was always so generous with his nieces at birthdays and Christmas.

Blake worked at the fertilizer plant and also Bradberry's in Dublin. He worked at FMC, then moved to Ft Worth, got his CDL and drove a truck for Pepsi Co and worked at GEO for many years before moving back to Dublin. There, he worked as a ranch hand, ran a bulldozer for his dad, worked in maintenance for many years, and then finally went back to driving a truck again.

Blake had a knack for telling stories and entertained family and friends with his colorful and hilarious accounts of childhood shenanigans and life experiences. He was one of a kind and will be missed so much by all of us who knew and loved him. Thank you for the memories, the fun, and laughter.

Blake was proceeded in death by Grandparents, W.D. Whitmire, Rubye and Lewis Richey, Myrtle Cheatham, parents Diane and Gary Whitmire, and dog Smokey. Blake is survived by: Sister Alynn and brother in law Bret Nance; brother Wade Whitmire and sister in law Tammy Jo; Nieces Kristalyn and Ashlynn Nance, and Quincie and Rynn Whitmire, and his dog Shasta, and numerous cousins, aunts and uncles.
