Williams D. Williams (Bill) was born Aug 12, 1969, in WheatRidge, CO to Rebecca (Becky) and Douglas (Doug) Williams.
Bill graduated from WheatRidge High School in 1987 and earned his Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from The University of Southern Colorado (USC) in 1991.
He met his wife Samantha (Sami) at USC, where he would tell you, "she jumped in my brown truck and never got out." They recently celebrated 33 years of marriage September 19th. His biggest love was when his son Wyatt was born in 2005. He would say, "It's all about Wyatt", because he made it that way!
Bill knew how to live life large and made numerous memories doing it. He was a man with a strong work ethic, integrity and a vision to back his dreams. He never sat back and waited for anything to happen. He always took the lead and found results. And to the very end, it was his way.
Bill was a cowboy who enjoyed a lifetime of nice horses, rodeo and jackpots. After Wyatt was born, he handed part of the reins off, and hauled Wyatt up and down the road. He used to say, "if we ain't driving 5 hours, we ain't driving."
Bill made lasting impressions on many people, as he was always willing to mentor others, help them with their roping, help them know what the score was, stand in the box with them, push calves and provide encouragement. But his true biggest joy was being able to place horses under Wyatt to go win on. That will not ever change!
Bill enjoyed hunting as well. He acquired many animals including moose, deer, elk, antelope, a mountain lion, as well as geese, ducks and pheasants. Bill, Sami and Wyatt recently had a trip of a lifetime. They spent an amazing 2 weeks in Africa hunting 35 different animals. The family each selected one trophy animal and Bill's big trophy from that trip was his Cape Buffalo, taking only 10 shots to get him down at a 10 yard charge. Some other great animals obtained together include the slam of wildebeest, slam of impala, slam of blesbok and 2 crocodiles. That's going out with a bang!
Bill started his career after graduating college and worked his way through until he found Garney Construction. After 20 years with them, he grew into the Executive Vice President of the Western Pipe Division. He was dedicated to and loved his Garney family, and traveled many miles just to help his people. His leadership style was unique but effective, and he always put his people first.
What a ride Bill had! The Lord called Bill home where he joined his mom and dad in heaven on October 4, 2026.
We love Bill big and will miss him so much. Bill's legacy will continue on in his new home in Texas with his wife Sami and son Wyatt. His brothers Bob and Brett, and all his family and friends, are tasked to carry on that legacy too. So, until we meet again, Ride for the Brand.
