Ann Tamsin Boardman

March 14, 1937 — June 18, 2025

Ann Tamsin Boardman, 88, left this world on June 18, 2025, in the comfort of her home in Stephenville, Texas. She was surrounded by close family and went peacefully to sleep listening to her favorite hymns and stories about the remarkable life she lived. Her yard was filled with cardinals, a sign that Angels from heaven were there keeping watch.

Tamsin was born on March 14, 1937, to James Weldon and Isabel (Edwards) Thomas in Shreveport, Louisiana. After spending her childhood in Mexico with her younger sister Diana and brother Bill, she graduated from high school and went on to further her education at The University of Texas. She continued her education, pursuing her master’s degree at SMU, and began work on her doctorate at TCU. Ultimately, motherhood was her true calling and she chose to stay at home with her children. She took great pride and joy in raising her three children and being a source of unwavering support. She enjoyed a wide variety of hobbies: reading, gardening, bird watching, hiking, playing the piano, and travel. She loved animals and typically had a house and barn full. Later, she met and married Bruce Carver Boardman. They moved to Bluff Dale soon after so that she could help care for her granddaughters. Nothing gave her more joy than spending time with them. During their childhood, she dedicated her days to helping raise strong, compassionate girls who were encouraged to read, learn, play, dream big, and take care of those around them. She will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Tam, or Tata, as she was affectionately called, is survived by her husband, Bruce Boardman of Stephenville, her sister, Diana Childress of Montreal, her children, Kathleen Huckabee and her husband Bill of Stephenville, Jim McElyea and his wife Suzanne of Dallas, Russell McElyea, step daughter Amy Hunt and her husband Brian, step daughter Iffat Khan and her husband Faisal, step son Bill Boardman, as well as her beloved grandchildren Alex Mitchell (Huckabee), Dani Grothouse (Huckabee), Brandon Huckabee, Saalika Khan, and Margaret and Julia Hunt.

Ann is preceded in death by both of her parents and brother.
