Obituary

Sydna Jeannette Tidwell Bacon passed away peacefully August 24, 2020, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Jeannette was born February 19, 1943, in Stephenville, Texas, to Sidney Aldridge and Mildred Jeannette Tidwell. She was baptized in 1954 at First Baptist Church in Stephenville. Jeannette was a graduate of Stephenville High School and Texas Tech University.

She was a dedicated mother first and foremost. She treasured her children and embraced every moment with them. She especially loved her role as "Grancy" to her four grandchildren. Jeannette was a true southern lady, gracious in every way. She was an expert seamstress and loved to cook and entertain her friends and family. Her creative hands were rarely still.

Jeannette is survived by her children Christopher Mark Bacon and wife Paige Nicole Bacon, Amy Marie Clark and husband William Chase Clark; grandchildren Ellen Marie Clark, Annabelle Ashley Clark, Noah Aldridge Bacon and Benjamin Storms Clark; nieces Deborah Ann Salazar and Kathryn Jean Tidwell; and nephew John Evan Tidwell, Jr.

She is pre-deceased by parents Sydney Aldridge and Mildred Jeannette Tidwell; brother John Evan Tidwell; sister-in-law Mary Josephine Tidwell; nephew Robert Howard Tidwell; and niece Margaret Lynn McIntosh. All of these she loved and touched deeply.

A special thank you to the ladies who cared for Jeannette during the last days of her earthly life. Their kindness and devotion to her care will never be forgotten.

Please join us in celebrating her life Saturday, August 29, 2020, at 2 o’clock in the afternoon at Stephenville Funeral Home, 120 W. South Loop, Stephenville, Texas.

Donations may be made to Saint Jude’s Children’s Hospital, Team Rubicon or Samaritan’s Purse.

Dear Amy, Chris & families- We’re so sorry for the loss of your sweet Mom. She was such a kind, lovely woman & my parents cherished her friendship for over 57 years. I remember my brothers & I visiting you & the family with our parents when we were kids in the Dallas area- always filled with laughter & fun. Jeannette was a wonderful host. Our hearts & prayers are with each of you during this tender time.
