To my one and only Aunt:

No one in the Cox, Walker, or Thurman family ever treated me any different because I am not a blood relative. I am forever grateful for that and cherish so many memories with this family.

There are so many of my Aunt Charlene that I can’t even begin to speak on a specific one. What I do know, for sure, is that no matter what, you always wanted family, friends, and good conversation in your life.

You always watched over my mother and I know you two are probably arguing over something again already.

Love you always,
Charles Ray

I will miss walking into the house with the tv blaring her favorite shows of The Lone Ranger or Gunsmoke, or just blaring so loud that we had to holler to be able to hear one another.
I'll miss the conversations with her that had no ending, sitting with her at Texan Club luncheons and football games, and will remember all of the conversations we had about her going to the "Opry" House and who was singing that particular week, listening to her talk about her beloved Elvis, or about all of her family members. I will never forget our last phone conversation when she told me how much I meant to her. I loved her like my mom. She was very special to me.
