Last year when I was going through my breast cancer stuff Mrs. Echols would message me to check on me & to give me words of encouragement. I remember in one message I said "Thank you, Mrs. Echols" She told me I could call her Cathy. I told her she'll always be Mrs. Echols to me. She then told me I'll always be her sweet 2nd grader. She was an amazing teacher, person & friend.
Thank you, Mrs. Echols for your love and encouragement.

The first time I saw Cathy was when she entered our 4th grade classroom wearing shoes with tiny heels. I was so jealous! Not long after that we were attending the same church where I listened to Cathy sing and play the piano. She was so talented!! What a wonderful friend she has been through the years! She will be greatly missed, but I know she is singing now in heaven. Love you, Cathy! Love to all your family.
