Nancy Crouch Obituary

Nancy White Crouch, 87, passed away on March 28, 2024 in Fort Worth after a brief illness. She was born in Gorman, Texas on October 6, 1936 to Hattie Ruth (Christie) and Henry Lee White.

Nancy was a graduate of Dublin High School, Tarleton State College, and Texas Christian University. Later in life Nancy was among the first to receive a graduate degree from Tarleton State University.

Nancy was a beloved school teacher for 30 years. Throughout her teaching career her students did special projects and raised money for the Stephenville Historical House Museum, Battleship Texas, and the Statue of Liberty. Nancy and colleagues were the first to take a group of Stephenville junior high students to Washington, D.C. Nancy received many teaching and community awards throughout her career, but her highest honor was making a difference in young lives.

After retiring from teaching, Nancy was a university teaching supervisor for  Tarleton State University.

Nancy is survived by daughters and sons-in-law, Jana and Felix Jimenez of Granbury and Julie and Larry Smith of Hico; Step-grandchildren, Cory Smith and Kaci and Wes Jones; stepgreatgrandchildren, Kali Smith, Caleb Smith, Connor Jones, and Garrett Jones; sister, Ruthanna Truly; niece, Christie Truly and Jim Mosher and their daughter, Katherine of Ohio; and a very special pet, Waffles. She also leaves behind her cousin, George Christie and his family, and extended members of the Crouch family. Nancy had so many friends and former students who were more like family.

Her family is so grateful for the outpouring of love shown to her throughout her life. This continues to be a great source of comfort.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, April 14 at 2:00 p.m. the First United Methodist Church with a reception to follow.
